 Summary:

Under general supervision of the I & C Supervisor performs work in the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs all duties included in the E&I Technician description and performs standard written procedures and/or oral directives as assigned.

 Responsible for the maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment by performing both skilled and semi-skilled manual work and skilled technical work.

 Performs mostly non-routine and some routine maintenance of the instrumentation equipment related to the district facilities.

 Installs conduit and pulls wire for motors, control panels, lighting fixtures, outlets, and other purposes; lays out, installs, aligns, and places into service new metering and recording devices, calibrating as required; may extend or connect related electrical circuits; makes cable splices of various sizes and difficulty as required.

 Removes, installs, reconditions, repairs and calibrates instrumentation equipment.                 

Troubleshoots programs for PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starts, modems, MCCs and motor starters for new and existing installations.

Modifies programs for PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starts, modems, MCCs and motor starters for new and existing installations after supervisor or SCADA integrator review of proposed changes.

Must have thorough knowledge of all safety related job procedures including Lock out Tag Out.

 Industrial electrical hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 220V, 110V, 24V and 12V motor control systems.

 Must have training or certification for programing PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starts, modems, MCCs and motor starters
